Hi all, 

Mr Upton news himself, Paul Testo, has gone on holiday (how dare he!) and unfortunately for all of you he has left me in charge of emails! 

I'll warn you now, we've got a lot to tell you so go get a cup of tea, settle into a comfy seat and enjoy! 

The main headlines this evening from Upton HQ are:

1) COURT RESURFACING NEARS COMPLETION 

I'm sure most of you are aware that we are having the bottom astro courts resurfaced (if not, where have you been?!). The old carpet has been lifted to reveal the old hard courts which some of you may remember (no naming names here, Jon!). These courts have now been levelled and a layer has been put over the top to help protect the courts. The new carpet is due to be rolled out sometime this week! 2) FOR ONE WEEK ONLY, QUIZ MASTER BOSTON REPLACES QUIZ MASTER TESTO

It appears to be a family affair this week for taking over from the Testo clan. Andrew Boston will be running our monthly pub quiz on Friday 28th July before hosting the monthly 200 club draw. Quiz starts at 7:45pm. Numbers are increasing each month so it would be great to see more of you down at the club Friday evening. We can sort you into a team so don't be shy, or even bring some friends with you! The good news is, I'll be playing this week so you have absolutely no chance of coming last! As always, contact Andrew if you would like to become a member of the 200 club! 

3)HEATWAVE STRIKES UPTON AS PICKIN BRINGS THE BEACH PARTY TO SALACRE LANE

Look out for your emails tomorrow as I'll be sending a proper invitation to Upton Tennis Club's Beach party, Saturday 5th August! Fun games such as cricket and crazy golf will be played and food will be provided, there are rumours it's fish and chips!  Admission will be £6 for adults and £3 for children. Everyone had a fantastic time at the bbq last month so get your names down!

4) TENNIS CLUB TO TAKE ON CROQUET CLUB IN POST SEASON 'FRIENDLY' 

We have kindly been invited to take on the Croquet club at, you guessed it, Croquet! We need people to sign up to play, Sunday 6th August 1:15pm start at the croquet club. If you would like to play, email or sign up in the club house. 

I think we took a beating last year so we need to get the bragging rights back! In all seriousness, it will be a great afternoon of fun so please sign up.
