Dear Member,

Again we are approaching Spring and the beginning of a new tennis season.   

For the new season the committee has decided to keep the subscriptions at the same level as the last 2 years. Details are attached and we would ask all members to deal with the subscription request as soon as possible. Subscriptions can be paid in advance by way of a lump sum (with a discount for early payment) or in full by monthly payments commencing in April 2016.  The enclosed subscription request e-mail form must be returned to Sheila Ryde in addition to you making the payment by your chosen method.

Please note that the club has a new bank sort code and account number at:  Lloyds TSB  sort code, 30-96-26, account number 19681760.

 Please be aware that this season we are offering FANTASTIC DISCOUNT (£99) to prospective NEW ADULT MEMBERS as one of a series of initiatives to increase membership and help with funding.  If you have a family member or a friend who is interested in joining please let a committee member know.

Coaching and Social Tennis.   

As always group and private tennis coaching, and other activities are available for both children and adults.                                                                                                                                                           Coaching for Children takes place on Fridays and Saturdays with Junior Club Night taking place on Friday evenings.  For Adults, we have Cardio Tennis on Friday nights (straight after Junior Night) and adult group coaching for ladies taking place on Saturday afternoons. Please contact our Club Coach Mike Schorah on 07505 356724 for further details about any of these activities.
Also we have social tennis planned for Wednesday and Thursday evenings (by selection) and Saturday afternoons. For further details please contact Mike Schorah, Brian Ballard and Dave Gatti.

Competitive Tennis.  

We continue to have 2 mixed teams in the Wirral League on Tuesdays and Club Friendly Games on Thursdays.  In addition we have 2 Men's Teams playing in the league on Sunday mornings so there is plenty of opportunity for competitive tennis.

We also run two tournaments during the year, the Club tournament in May/June and the Handicap tournament in September.

Saturday Afternoon Social Tennis and Tennis Teas continue to be part of our programme and we would love to see more people down using the courts.  Do join us for Presidents Day on Sat. April 16th^th, and Brunch on Sun April 17^th. 

Social Events.  A full programme of Social Events across all clubs in the UVH family is planned.  Please see the attached Calendar for details and come along and enjoy the atmosphere of our friendly club.

It is your tennis club and only by supporting the club by coming along to play and participate in social events can you ensure its continued success.

PS - Dog pooh on the grass near the Rake Lane entrance. The owner of the dog has been advised. Wirral Borough Council have also been advised, as the dog owner ignored us and we are due to add warning notices.  There is no need for any member of the tennis club to get involved and do not confront the dog owner.  The UVH Executive Committee are fully aware of the issue, hence the notices.

PPS - Sports England grant - As you are all aware the Leylandi are gone on Rake Lane and the car park is rather open and bare. The grant makes provision for UVH to erect new fencing and so plans are being agreed for the car park and hopefully some new bushes as well.

PPPS - Grounds/maintenance issue - if you spot anything wrong with the facilities or grounds or have a useful suggestion regarding the facilities, please advise a member of the Tennis Club Committee and that person will ensure it is taken forward.
