Chairman's Dinner report in Club News

16 Jan 2011

The Chairman's Dinner was held on Saturday 15th January.  Terry and Alison organised a wonderful evening. A delicious meal was served, prepared, served AND washed up by the wonderful staff from Something Special Restaurant in Upton.
Everyone dressed up for the event and some were barely recognisable out of shorts!
Terry gave a moving speech in honour of Brian Ballard for all that he has done for the club over the past 34 years. Brian was presented with an engraved clock and his lady  (that's Pat) received a beautiful flowering plant.
Brian responded with a characteristically enthusiastic and witty speech of thanks saying that he had got as much out of the club as he has put in. He read some of the entries from the Victory Hall rules and regulations of the 1930s, 40s and 50s which were very amusing.

A great vote of thanks to the Adlards and all who attended to support them and the Victory Hall at this key event in the Tennis club's diary.
